What better time to go fishing for things that you fancy, at prices that are much lower than usual? Off I went to kickstart the Great Singapore Sales, right on its second day!
My initial plan was to jet off from home in the afternoon, for some shopping-alone time at the nearby heartland mall before meeting up with Ling Ling in the evening. But somehow, I actually managed to delay till around 5 pm, so I headed off to city area straight away.
AND I EVEN WENT TO WITHDRAW A SUM JUST FOR SHOPPING.
I thought that I would probably go home with lots of loots...
First stop at Wisma Atria. Combed the fashion boutiques and saw that they had rather nice apparels. But then the material for most wasn't really good so I decided it's not really worth it. Also looked around Isetan, in hope of finding the item that I wanted to get for Mum's birthday. Sadly, it's not sold there. But I have alternative venues!
Following, dinner at Raffles City, Shokudo!
Cha Soba. Everything green! XD
Gyozas! One of my favourites, especially nice when dipped in vinegar. I think I like the vinegar more actually, haha.
Seafood baked rice. Appearances are deceiving. This baked rice sucks totally. Sorry if I sound mean here, but this rice is cooked in tomato sauce, unlike the usual creamy type, which makes it rather dry. Also, too much of tomato can get quite sickening. To make things worse, the cheese on top is dry and hard like rubber! Anyone who plans to dine at Shokudo, you are HIGHLY ADVISED NOT TO TAKE THIS. We shared this but only managed to finish half of it. Great achievement yea.
The pizza which I wanted to try after seeing lots of good reviews about it! And no doubt, I think it's great! Very cheesy~ And Cheryl likes things with cheese! ^^ Ling Ling said that it doesn't have the 'taste of Japan'. Haha Shokudo Concepts merges Japanese and Western together.
For dessert, their signature Tofu Cheesecake! However, I think that the cheesecake at Heeren's Shokudo was better.
Some deco to it. But this shot was not clear enough to show it.
We also ordered a Macha Float while leaving. It was very rich in it's macha flavour, but the ice-cream seemed too sweet. :D Anyway, after that we went to Suntec for a walkaround, then to Esplanade. There was a quartet putting a public performance. It was fantastic listening to the harmony of three violins and a cello (or double bass, I forgot which). It was also my childhood aspiration to learn to play a violin, but my mum was afraid that my passion for it will burn out quickly and it would be a waste of resources.
We made a turn-back for Raffles City again. I ended up buying nothing except for Mum's gift. And I insisted on buying it that day as I felt the complusion to buy at least something, if not I will feel that the trip was wasted. Alright, so I bought a thing! ONLY ONE THING.
This day will probably be one of my most memorable days, 'cause parents weren't at home, meaning no curfews! But I still reached home before midnight because I don't feel good about staying out too late, even though at first I had wanted to linger at the malls till they close at 11pm. Haha.
It's okay if I didn't return home with a loadful of buys, there's still a long way to end of GSS! I'm going out someday again!

Witch's Birthday 2009
This entry came very late, but I said that I will be back with the presents! I'm keeping to my words!
From Eunice.
Even before my dear sister passed me this dainty little gift, I could already guessed what she had gotten me. And trying to feel what's inside from the exterior could almost confirm my guess!
I was right! She got me Shadow Customize and Jeweling Pencil in pink!
How did I manage to guess it? Haha, before we meet, Eunice was already telling me, 'I hope no one else got the same thing for you as me.' So it's highly possible that it is something from my wish list. When I felt the gift, I could feel a very compact object at the bottom of the parcel, and a stick-like object resting diagonally across. Thus, my conclusion! Thanks a lot, Eunice! I really have to apologise for getting her the teddy, as I did not see her wish list before getting her present. So sorry!
From Chubin.
She got me something on my wish list as well! It is Lash Expander Frame Plus. Chub is cute, she came to meet us to pass me the gift. When she arrived, she said that she wanted me to go and pick something that I want. Too sweet! Haha. And now, I also know why Eunice was encouraging me to pick the mascara while we were at the MJ booth. XD
And this lovely little card with our Prom photo on it! Chubin, your card is filled with so much love that I'm drowning in your love.
From Kehan.
The thing I like most about Kehan's gift is his very interesting letter! He wrote me a letter last year too. And I find it all very inspiring. Recently, he's very into Haikus, so he even wrote one for me. Thanks! And Kehan, hope that you like your latest addition to your soft toy collection.
From Diana and Ailing.
These 2 classmates of mine are very thoughtful and sweet! Even though I knew them for barely 3 weeks, they still gave me a birthday gift. Thank you for this adorable Eeyore!
From Christine & Ross.
A Calvin Klein wallet and a belt. I guess I don't have to buy the Carlo Rino wallet now, since this beautiful wallet came so timely. I'm just a little concerned about keeping it clean, since it's white. Haha.
And the most practical gift of all....
From Dad and mum!
Nothing else can really be more practical than money. And I'm going to smile all the way to the bank. ^^
From Gerald.
Koinobori. It is rather significant since I'm born on Kodomo no Hi, and Japanese families will raise carp-shaped koinobori flags before this day. The flag takes the shape of the carp because of the Chinese legend that a carp that swims upstream becomes a dragon, and the way the flags blow in the wind looks like they are swimming.and the way the flags blow in the wind looks like they are swimming.
Here is a picture that better depicts them when they are blowing in the wind.
This picture is captioned on Facebook, 'Cheryl holding on to her Koinobori giving retarded smile!' Anyway, if you observe, the colour strips at the head of the my Koinobori is missing in the very first picture. I don't how it just got blown away on my way home, without my realisation. And Gerald refused to tell me where he got it!
So that's almost all. Ling Ling said there are still presents for me. And I'm always kept in suspense. But it's okay, Cheryl likes surprises!

Not just that, colours added as well!
But these pictures don't do much justice to Von's works. Will show you the better ones when I get hold of them. ^^

17 Again!
I shall not keep harping on my 17th birthday and stuff because I find it irritating too. But as promised, the pictures are here!
My 'birthday suit'. LOL. This dress is like some kind of birthday gift that I got for myself not too long ago.
Early in the morning, I jet off from home with this Metro plastic carrier.
I know you are dying to find out what's inside.
Hush... I got a bomb in there...
Obviously not! They are Eunice's and Kehan's presents, and they share the same birthday as the Witch too!
If you think that Metro bag was big, this was what the Mini Toons staff gave me. This can fit at least 5 of the above presents in. They had a smaller bag which is just nice to fit the 2 parcels in but, perhaps that guy was crazy.
After lessons ended, Diana, Ai Ling and I went to Makan Place, while waiting for dance lesson to start in the evening. I wanted to watch some videos on Youtube but there was some errors. Tsk tsk!
Make a guess on what this is!
After some time, I headed to BPP to meet up with Eunice! Time to exchange presents!
Sixteen... (That's my dear sister with her dear Cookie.)
& seventeen. ^^
We has lunch at Mos Burger! I ordered the Scallop Rice Burger, and felt quite cheated after that. The scallop balls tasted weird, the sauce was too salty. And the ingredients used in the burger just don't complement one another. Thankfully there were the fries to compensate for the bad stuff. But still, I paid for it! =(
Gifts from Eunice and Kehan, plus Kehan's very special letter. :)
Chubin also came to meet me! She insisted on getting something from my wishlist and so I had to go and pick my choice. Haha. Following was some narcissistic moments in the washroom.
Asked Eunice to join in as well 'cause I'm afraid that she might feel left out.
NOT READY LUH! This is classic!
Take 1
Take 2
Although dance practice ended pretty late, we felt rather satisfied, considering that we mastered the steps taught last evening. Then it was home sweet home!
Yet, reaching home did not mark the end of the drive to take more pictures.
Very very tired, but very very happy at the same time.
TADA! This particular gadget is showing up again! In fact, it was with me throughout the day, following me wherever I went.
A better view of it.
Alright, I shan't keep my dear readers in suspense. It's Creative Vado HD!
I am really in love with my wallpaper so I actually tested baby Vado with it. Yes I'm calling it a baby since it just surfaced in the market not very long ago, just like a baby waiting to grow up and get recognition for its accomplishment.
My LifeBook.
And VAIO!
Really like how the resulting video/image turned out to look so vibrant! If I were to play it on a HDTV, won't that be even more fantastic?
To end off this picture-some entry, this is a brief showcase of the gifts that i have received so far.
