im shortlisted as one of the top ten finalists for Singapore Blog Awards - Youth Category. the nomination was held sometime in early June. never in my dreams did i even think of getting into the finals! i was really surprised when i saw that people link to my blog through the list of finalists. so i went to the site to have a look and i am one of them! ^^

The final. To my dearest Guide patrol, Oriole. :)

Dear Oriole,

Fall in at 2.30pm tomorrow outside Guides Haven in full Guides uniform and hat. Please bring PT kit as well. Don't forget your belt and badges too. =)
Also, prepare about $2 to pay your PS, Eunice, for the picnic food if you had gone for the hike in June.

I guess this is my last meeting reminder to you all. Do take care in future. =)

i will miss all of you.

i will miss staying back after school on Fridays for Guides meetings.

i will miss meeting up with you girls to get the things we need for whatever events.

i will miss going to campfires with the crazy bunch of you.

I'M BACK!! :D

i rushed home right after school and prepared to go to Wisma Atria to collect my Champagne Gold baby. Sony's service is really efficient! it's less one week and it's ready for collection. haha. they did a software update and my DVD drive can function properly now!

after the collection, i went for some food at BreadTalk/ToastBox.

iced-Horlick and Smart Aleck bread stick. these two go very well together! :)
(hweetian said that im nearly becoming anorexic. LOL. this is evidence that im not. ahaha. XD)

after eating, i walked about for a while and bought something. it feels very good to shop alone. but it's quite tiring to be carrying the laptop at the same time.

and i told you that you would miss me! ^^

i bought Famous Amos cookies! one for Mum and the other for... GUESS WHO! X)

this is Mum's belated birthday present. i didn't know what to get for her. since chocolates contain endophin which makes people happy, i ended up with this. haha.

alright, i shall be back again to catch with the past posts. the passion of blogging has come back to me. :)

i was also invited to "Butter Cookies Night", at The Butter Factory on 25 June.

i guess many Singaporeans are waiting impatiently for this...
they can't wait to lay their hands on this trendy, cool, and absolutely chic gadget.

but alas! we shall await its arrival in Singapore very soon. don't you feel excited?!

Apple is launching its new and improvised version of its popular iPhone. iPhone 3G is designed for faster Internet downloads, longer talk times, and takes advantage of the high-speed network to provide GPS mapping built in.

isn't that great news? haha. XD

the first-generation iPhone which was launched on 29 June 2007, is only available in six countries. the new version of the sleek smartphones will be made available in 70 countries once it is launched on 11 July.
hold on... look at what's even better below.

iPhone 3G will sell for 199 US dollars with eight gigabytes of memory. a model with 16 gigabytes of memory will cost 299 US dollars. converting to Singapore dollars, that's about $258.70 for the one with 8 GB memory and $388.70 for the 16 GB one! it just costs a little more than my current phone and has better functions too! hmm... im kind of tempted....

but still, i will not get the iPhone. the main point is that i don't want to be holding on to the same kind of gadget like most other Singaporeans in time to come. it will be so-not-unique. lol.

oh, with the surfacing of iPhone 3G, i guess companies like Nokia will be facing a fiercer competition with its rival, Apple? that will be interesting.

i was supposedly meeting my dear patrol members from Oriole yesterday, but only Aixin and Eunice turned up. we were meeting at 1pm, but i was late, Eunice was later, and Aixin was latest as she only woke up at about one. hahaha.

so we went to buy our things for the picnic during the hike on monday. we bought bread, fruits, sausages, limeade and lemonade, mostly healthy food. :) after that, we proceeded to Food Junction to have lunch.

all of us ordered Japanese food. we also bought a bottle of Minute Maid Apple Cranberry juice each. we endorse Minute Maid. ^^

that's not all for our lunch...

we had paper pratas after that. great appetite. :D

one with chocolate sauce and the other, the plain and original. we had lots of fun peeling off the prata. the chocolate sauce was quite messy but it was pretty nice.

after enjoying a very sumptuous meal, we walked around. then Eunice and Aixin went to wait for their friends to catch a movie and i went home.
im looking forward to the hike!

and the love flows on...

this afternoon, i went to buy my lunch at 2 plus. i am not an ardent fan of KFC, less so for its cheese fries. but there was this sudden craving kicking in, so i went to buy cheese fries.

KFC is such a cheater! fries are supposed to be piping hot and crispy. but my fries turned out to be cold and limpy.

the limpy fry. also, the cheese and mayonaise are meant to go with crispy stuff. they just don't go well with the cold fries, just making it soggy. -.-

i think that the fries have been ready for a long time. when i ordered it, the service crew just warmed it and gave it to me. damn KFC the cheaterbug. anyway, what's so nice about KFC? the fried chicken and whatever fried food they have on their menu are so fatty!

the pieces of the fried chicken appeared to be very big. but beneath the crisp lie a thick layer of flour, infused with the chunks of chicken fats. this is just cheating the consumers by illuding them with the misconception, 'Wow, a very big piece of chicken! Value for quantity!'

simply a load of crap. to think that the KFC-lovers are still happily chewing on the 'big' pieces of chicken. little do they know that they are taking in more flour and fats than the meat itself.

at the thought of the significant amount flour and fats usually found in the fried chicken or whatever, i am utterly disgusted. not to mention KFC, other fastfood restaurants are also guilty of this.

digressed. after i ate the cheese fries, there was this cheesy taste in my mouth. i tried drinking water but it still remained.

thus i resorted to this.

pomegranate yoghurt drink.

i don't really fancy this drink because it has the taste of fever medicine, which i dislike.

there is an alternative, mixed berries yoghurt drink.

but since the pomegranate drink has been opened, it should be finished as soon as possible. so i drank that. LOL.

FEVER MEDICINE! ahaha. surprisingly, it got rid of the cheesy taste. yay. and now i think it doesn't taste so bad now.

Chris the retard hit me with the Scout belt today. it left a long mark on my hand.

he's always behaving like an uncivilised barbarian. tsk.

on tuesday evening, my family went for food-tasting for Christine's wedding at Shangri-La, with Ross and his parents too. :)

the menu of the 9-course dinner.

the retard trying to act shy. lousy acting. -.-

these are the utensils that Ross and Christine had chosen to be used during their wedding banquet. the setting is quite different too. instead of the usual thick and heavy white tablecloth, a softer and lighter material of a shade of dark beige is used. i think that this is pretty innovative. :)

the first dish is the roasted suckling. i didn' take a picture of that. it was quite nice but we find it to be quite fatty.

following, shark's fin soup.

we think that in terms of taste, it is average. the good point is in its content, which is very filling. that will be a plus point to the guests.

stir-fried vegetables with abalone.

steamed garoupa. the fish is very fresh. and a fresh fish tastes best when steamed. :D

sauteed prawns. quite delicious and very filling. there are many prawns and for a table of 10, each person gets 4 prawns. that is a lot.

steamed ginseng chicken.

i shall let you have a peek at what's inside. haha.

lastly, the very-much-anticipated dessert!

somehow, i think that it looks like pumpkin soup from here. LOL.

i have to say that this is simply heavenly. the cold dessert can perk you up after a sumptuous meal. ^^

generally, we think that the food was really up to standard. they just shared some ideas with the chef on improving the appearance of a few dishes which were thought to be quite plain-looking. the chef assured us that the quality of the food will be the same on the actual day. but we are expecting it to be not as good as this due to 'mass-production' for 550 guests, haha. the food-tasting session ended at about 10 pm. we went home after that.

Hera is making an appearance in my entry again. haha.

anyway, Dear asked why i didn't ask him along since there are 2 vacant seats for the food-tasting. he's so cute! ^^

What is the sound that you are most afraid of?

for me, it's the sound of electrical drillers.

this morning, i woke up to the sound of drilling, which seems to be coming from the flat above mine. i am particularly very scared of this sound, since i was young.

i tried to go back to sleep again, even though it was already past ten. but the scary sounds were very grilling and disturbing to the mind. i cried, while hugging tightly onto my soft toys. this sounds silly, doesn't it?

an ordeal. of which was a physical and psychological torture.

Intensive Study Program has officially ended! with the end-of-term bash! :D

went to Orchard with Yunying and Xiying after school. we entered the cinema quite punctually, after walking around upon reaching. Indiana Jones was quite a nice movie, though i voted for Chronicles of Narnia at first, haha. but some of the people do not know when to keep their mouths shut, especially in the midst of the movie. that was quite a spoiler. -.-

i felt my lenses getting dry so i took them out and rewet it during the show. LOL. luckily my night vision isn't that bad. X)

with Yunying. wanted to take another picture together with Xiying but the show was starting.

after the show ended, the three of us were one of the earliest to leave. i sent Yunying to the Orchard station and then met Dear as well. we had no idea of where to go for dinner so we were walking around rather aimlessly. later we settled at Takashimaya. haha. on the way we met Gerald, who was with his son, Chester. lolol.

after dinner, we went to Heeren and toured the building. i have not been there for quite some time. now the 5th storey is inaccessible. -.-

next was Wisma Atria. Ling Ling wanted to go to the Sony gallery. so we went there to look at the laptops. after that i went to The Face Shop to look at some things. there are too many pretty stuff that im confused about which to get. hahaha.

then we went home! it was quite a tiring day, but i am very happy.

1) Octopus. (Origin: The octopus soft toy, which unfortunately, i have it too. it's also partly because of his usual blurness, lol.)

2) Compu-nerd wannabe. (Origin: Mariah Carey's 'Touch My Body' music video.)

3) The hot and sexy hunk. (self-proclaimed. how thick-skinned right... haha.)

4) Perverted hunk. (due to all the 'woo-woo-woo-ing', which made him sound very much like a, well, pervert. XD)
