It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

currently, although i don't know of any friend whose birthday falls on 29 February...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL LEAPLINGS IN THE WORLD!! ^^ this long-awaited day that only occurs once every 4 years has finally arrived!

even though im not a Feb 29 baby, i still got a present! special day indeed! much more special than Valentine's Day, which is an annual event.

    Cheryl's Customised Cellphone: Part I

    *lights flashing*

    *TADA!*

THIS IS MY NEW PHONE! ISN'T IT GORGEOUS?!! =D

please don't ask me for the brand/model of this phone. it is one of a kind yea? like what i mentioned above, this is my PERSONALIZED phone. this means there is only one, and just ONE in the whole world, because it is custom-made, according to the design that i want exactly!

of course there is a price to pay for such good things. this phone is supposedly priced at 3060 bucks. but i got it at a 30% discount, how lucky i am! it is produced in Venezuela... beautiful phones made in a place full of beautiful people! omg that's thrilling! ^^

i shall explore my new pretty-as-a-babe phone and tell you more about it next time. don't be jealous of me now! X)

    To be continued...

well, the career fair was more like an education planning fair 'cause it is obvious that the tertiary schools formed up most of the booths. lol.

these are some of the courses that i am interested in currently... aerospace tech and maritime academy also seem appealing to me. haha.

after the career fair i went home with yunying, nguan han and jian zhong. we were crapping away and the 2 guys kept boasting about their abilities to qualify for AJC. lmao.

it's the annual school CIP tomorrow - collection of old newspapers. seems that it has been brought forward a little this year. O.o

Don't wait. The next leap year is four years later... =)

it's now 29th February! it's significant because it only occurs once in 4 years!

in the Irish culture, Leap Year has been the traditional time that women can propose marriage. Nowadays, it's alright for a lady to propose marriage to a man. Society doesn't frown upon such women. However, during the much more conservative past, women could only pop the question on one day every four years, which was February 29th.

    interesting huh?
anyway The Leap Years will be showing today. Based on a novella by acclaimed writer Catherine Lim, the story is about Li-Ann, a young Singaporean girl who meets her 'special someone' on 29 February. She decides to base her intuition on an Irish leap year tradition that no man will refuse any request of a lady and invites him out for a date. Together, they embark on a romantic journey that spans over 12 years, meeting only thrice in 12 years, on the leap year.

from the trailer, it looks interesting. i somehow find the music familiar, and kind of nostalgic. but there will surely be lots of people on the first day. RARRR!! but anyway i don't think i will have time due to the career fair and more CCA stuff. im quite looking forward to the career fair, though i think there may be nothing much that may interest me.

i also want to watch L change the WorLd. shanfeng said that there was a girl in the movie who looks a lot like me. so i told him that i actually starred in the movie. then he told me, 'you are a child that L likes a lot in the movie.' i think that L is kind of cool by the way. :) and i want to see if i really look like that girl. O.O lol.

hope to catch these 2 movies for now! ^^

    失宠了... T. T

Witch Yuki: *snatch bear bear and run away* ^^

Dear: I hold bear bear so tight that no one can snatch from me...

Witch Yuki: I shall cast a spell... *bear bear disappears!*

Dear: You missed and shot me... I've vanished...

Witch Yuki: Good... I have bear bear with me now.. X)

Dear: (Auto reply) I've vanished... I will not be able to reply you...
    Witch Yuki: Lol... Bye!

    after some time...

Witch Yuki: Wah you really vanished? Oh no...

    no response.

Witch Yuki: I will cast spell again... *Gerald returns!*

Dear: (Auto reply) Lol... Gerald Chiang returns...

Witch Yuki: Oops! Cast wrong spell... Try again.. *Gerald Liau returns!*

Dear: Ohh... Where was i? Who are you? I forgot everything!!

Witch Yuki: Rarrr! *Destroy every possible Gerald in the world!*

LOLOL. i go and hug orange. X)

&&&, stop calling me ****** sao, ** sao or whatever-sao!! this morning someone just walked past right in front of me and called me that. -.- and i don't know who he is.

during cme yesterday, Rashidah was asking the girls in class 'are you attached?' practically one by one. when she suddenly asked me, i was looked at her inoocently, hoping that she will take it as 'No'. but she just looked straight at me. and i don't think that it is good to lie to her so i just said 'yes'. almost everyone must be looking at me... and now the whole class knows about it. omg luh! Rashidah says that she reads tabloids, but i hope she isn't part of the gossip committee. lol.

till then, see you again! :)

had a good chat with Huirong this evening. it's been a long time since we really have this kind of chat. we talked about lots of things. cosmetic surgery, school uniforms, choices of schools after secondary education etc.

i also told her about the 90:10 ratio between the rich and the poor since she brought up the topic about the rich getting richer, while the poor getting poorer. she said it's s good topic to blog about, so may be i will elaborate on it some day. there are really lots of topics to venture into for blogging. and i realise that both of us are quite similar 'cause we will write posts and save it, then post it some other time. LOL.

haha and lastly, thanks for your compliment. :)

Happy Thinking Day / Founder's Day to all Guides and Scouts!!

woke up really early this morning, before the clock even struck 5am. we had to reach school at 6.15 am. Mum accompanied Chris and me to CCK interchange. she said she had nothing to do since she was not working today. :)

after the contingent falled in, the sec 4s went back to our respective classes, standing at the front to recite the Promise. when i just went back, some Scout was giving some instructions or commands or whatever, quite loudly. then Nizam told me 'eh, ask that Scout to shut up luh!' lol. they also asked why i was not in the contingent, including Rashidah, who terrorised me greatly. haha.

the ceremony proceeded quite smoothly. but we were not very satisfied with the Guides' performance as they fidgeted quite obviously. well, hope that we can see tremendous improvement in them for the National Day. =)

    as you can see....

    I'M BACK!! ^^

it feels good now to have the load of tests down. however, im not really confident of my results this time. i was quite restless during my revision, not able to sit still and moving around like a little kid.

we got to know our results for Chemistry and E maths. i was quite close to my goal for Chem, just need one or two more marks. =) E maths was better than i expected though it wasn't a very fantastic grade. i didn't complete the graph question and thought that i would have already lost 10 marks from there. i had not finish plotting my points when time was up and i just hastily joined the points together. miraculously i still got 5 marks for that question. i thought that my curve would not be accepted since it was not drawn with the curve rule, and i did not even bring it. -.- for a few other questions i still got method marks though i didn't complete them. :D

after school Shairah came to tell me that Gerald asked her which ranks do the two stripes on our shirts represent. so Shairah told him it's PL, since she is a patrol leader. you know what he told Chester and company?
'oh, it means Senior Cookie Baker.'

i feel like slaughtering him luh!! then one of them said that the CL would be the 'Master Cookie Baker'. it seems like the boys in my class have long ago associated Guides with cookies and stereotyped us as 'cookie bakers'. it's just downright retarded. and i think even retards will learn to bake their own cookies. -.-

Guides don't bake cookies. the cookies we are selling to raise funds are MANUFACTURED by the biscuit factory. =)

after settling some Guides stuff in school, i went for lunch with Claris. then we went to get the gifts for tomorrow's gifts exchange. shall show you what i got tomorrow. haha. it's late now and im going to bed! GOODNIGHT! ^^

hey hey hey, it's Thinking Day, hey hey hey it's Thinking Day, hey hey hey it's Thinking Day, all over the world it's Thinking Day!
in Mexico it's Thinking Day, in Singapore it's Thinking Day, at Cheryl's blog it's Thinking Day, all over the world it's Thinking Day!

and Thinking Day doesn't mean that you only have brains on this day. LOL.

on to the 8th week. i will not be here for a couple of days unless im wanted by demand.(as in serious stuff like school work or CCA crap. i don't see myself as that popular okay.) LOL.

though common test doesn't really bother me all the time, it is a great deal this time, and for mid-year too. the progress report for term 1 will only consist of our results based on this common test. thus i must get down to revision and not spend time on unimportant things.

haha im not implying that you readers are unimportant. i love all of you, especially my loyal readers who visit everyday without fail. continue to chatter at my tagboard and make it as lively as possible. lol.

i will be back soon, most prolly by Friday. :)

still remember this song? Anonymous by Bobby Valentino. it was choreographed by our dance instructor during one of our dance lessons. i think he likes songs by Timbaland. haha.

Rashidah says her favourite song is Apologise.
I say it's too late to apologise... it's too late...

Cheryl likes Anonymous! alright, actually Apologise is a nice song too. ^^

I wanna know, I wanna know your name.... why you gotta be anonymous?
Baby I want you so much, wanna hold wanna feel your touch...
    Why you gotta be anonymous?

I wanna meet my Mr Anonymous.

and Bobby Valentino is seriously a nice name. :)

Happy Valentine's Day to all!! ^^

    have you enjoyed your day?

    my fluffy Valentine mascots. :)

    SMILE!

aren't they simply cute? i am now in love with my Valentine mascots! ahahaha.

a very sweet and lovely little datebook from Dear!

it's Hello Kitty from Sanrio!! omg! ^^

the collection of stickers. the icons are so cute!

SEE?!! Japanese celebrate my birthday! it's a holiday!
haha actually it's the Boy's Day (or Children's Day) in Japan.

thank you for your rose without thorns!! Chanel loves Gucci.

thanks to all my other friends for your Valentine's gifts. really appreciated it. =)

yesterday, my family and i caught the latest Jack Neo film, Ah Long Pte Ltd. :)

we were so fortunate to get the tickets through online booking. the tickets were already sold out when we reached the cinema! just look at the great response! i think that the box office results for this show may be able to win CJ 7 and Jay Chou's new movie. LOL.

Mark Lee is truely a born comedian. he is acting as a sissy dance instructor who later got married to Fann Wong, who is the chief of the Shao He gang, a loanshark group. the way he behaves in the movie seems so real and the audience could not help but laughed when the% Ah Longs beat him up. he is very concerned about his face so he will always say 'don't hit my face! it hurts, you know!' hahaha.
    SISSY METER: 95%

95% because he stills displays a little manly side of him in the show... which is in the bedroom luh! you see, sissies may not necessarily be gays. some hunks who appear so manly may turn out to be gays, to your utmost surprise!

Fann Wong has done pretty well in this movie too. i like the way she leads the Shao He gang - great usage of propaganda and no violence involved. haha that was their reformatting policy in order to operate their illegal money-lending businesses without disrupting the lives of innocent people.

a totally hilarious show. also, Cantonese is used more than Hokkien in this movie since the setting is in Malaysia. i can understand Cantonese much better than Hokkien! alright so this is a must-not-miss during this festive season of the spring! ^^

hey dear all! i just came back from a visit to eldest uncle's house. only uncle, aunt and my cousin Jennifer were at home. Thomas was out with his wife while Shuyun was most probably with her friends. so it was mostly the adults doing the talking just now as we had nothing much to do besides drinking and watching TV. LOL.

anyway, i have loaded the pictures from yesterday, not many though :)

at Hougang, aunts' place, AGAIN. haha.

    presenting to you....

The DS Lite Couple of The Year!! ^^ *applause*

Mum and me. i think that she looks like some 大姐大 with that expression. LOLOL! xD

on the second day of CNY, we went to Grandma's house as our first station, since it was nearest to our place. we had lunch there and listened to a little of my Grandma's naggings (which were mostly one ear in, the other ear out.) after that we headed down to my fourth grand aunt's house at Bedok Reservoir Road. we visit her once a year i guess. like my eldest grand aunt, she was happy to see us too. later my dad's cousins, Uncle John and Sum came. Uncle Sum was with his mother and boyfriend. we left while after they arrived.

next stop was at Haig Road, also the relatives from my dad's side. everyone was asking when is my sis' wedding. seems like they can't wait for the day to come, haha.
after the third station, we intend to go to another relative's house, but they were going out, so we went to Hougang (AGAIN). this time was to meet my youngest uncle as he wanted to pass a bottle of wine to my dad. and we had not gotten his ang bao since we didn't get to see him on the first day. haha Uncle David is getting more and more generous, GOOD! ^^

Uncle David left after some time. Ross and Christine also left early for their own programme. we had dinner with my three aunts and watched the HK drama serials on cable TV. out of the many types of animal paws, i still like the tiger's paws most, especially the cubs! they are such cute creatures. i want to hug one! RARRRRR!
well, Chris the Retard fell asleep while lying on the sofa. my mum dozed off while watching the television. then my dad was reading his feng shui book, after which he lay down on the sofa and slept! TSK AHHHHHH! i had to wake them up 'cause it was pretty late and i definitely don't want to stay overnight at my aunts' house. it was like so long time before the sleepy logs were finally woken up. -.-

    so that's all for 初二...
and that's my harvest for the past two days. =)

of course i am still hoping for more red-hoodie little guys to find their way into my bag!!

    TODAY
you know, it's pretty boring to be waiting for a bus, which the frequency is so much like.... once in a blue moon? plus it was a rather windy evening too. X)

you are right, im at the bus-stop. :)

as i mentioned earlier, i had nothing much to do. so it's self-entertainment with wine. this is a 14.5%. haha. i think it's quite mild.

    Thomas' dog, Candy.

it is HIS dog. yet his mother is taking care of it. -.-

it just feels so nice to be back at home.

    oh home sweet home...

    GUESS WHAT!!!

Hera is here to wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year!!
    *Hera squeaks and whines excitedly*

    *Rrrr~~~ wroooofff!!!*
you know what to do now right?

that's right, thank my dear Hera and wish her a happy new year too! not forgetting to bless her with good health and stay ever so hyperactive! ^^ and if you will please, im will be greatly glad to welcome your special ang bao! it can contribute to the purchase of her food you know. LOL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST BF, JOVONNE QIQI!! ^^

i used purple, your favourite colour.
best wishes to you and may you excel in your O' levels this year! i know Physics is hard, but continue to hang in there for the next few months and you will be free! i don't get to meet you this year again. never mind, we shall meet up after the great great exams!

therefore, please wait patiently for your present. :)

    7 Feb 2008, 大年初一

i woke up at 10 plus. i always wake up later than anyone else during the first day of Chinese New Year. that's because my new bedsheet is so comfortable that it's as if im sleeping on clouds! ^^ actually my sis is usually the last one to wake up, but since she has moved, i am now the latest to wake up. haha.

as usual, it's a 'tradition' in my house to start the first day of the CNY with steamed man tous! yummy!

i prefer man tous to those buns with fillings inside. maybe i just like the bun itself but not the fillings. lol.

after breakfast we got prepared to go for visits! Ross and Christine came to fetch us at 1 plus. i spent so much time dressing up.

the material of this dress is really good. silky texture. made me feel like a princess! mum was telling sis how much time i spent on my eyes and made my lashes look as though they were fake. haha i think i don't need Fiberwig afterall. that is more suitable for people in a hurry or those who don't want to spent too much time dolling up. and luckily i didn't buy falsies 'cause i don't see how i can put them into good use frequently.

we went to the temple to pray then head to my aunts' house in Hougang. before that, we went for a lil' bite at McDonald's, Hougang Point.

    lucky number 3!! ^^

we are already consuming junk on the first day of CNY.

this was only my side, with my parents. i think there were more on Ross and Christine's table. haha.

when we reached our aunts' house, it was already 4 plus. we left at 6 plus as we were going to my Godma's house while Ross and Christine were having their own programme after they sent us there. they were celebrating their first anniversary! hahaha. hence we didn't get to see our other relatives who came much later.

it was much crowded at Godma's place as her relatives came for dinner. Godma always prepares a feast whenever there is any special occasion. but we only joined in the lo hei and had the chicken soup since we already had dinner earlier. my godsister's daughter, Kyra, was such a sweet girl. i think she is turning 6 this year. at first she came to ask us 'who are you?' with a very innocent expression. then when we were about to leave, she suddenly came and hugged me, which was quite surprising and lovely. she's such an angelic princess. that's what i like about young children. :D

after leaving Tanjong Katong, we visited our eldest grandaunt at Marine Parade. although she had joint problems which cause pain in her leg, she is still energetic and lively. she is always very happy whenever when we pay her a visit and will tell us interesting stories of the past. haha too bad we went there at night and i didn't get to admire the beautiful view of East Coast from the corridor of her flat. LOL.

that was the last station and we went home after that. the day was pretty boring i would say. maybe because i didn't get to see my other relatives since i had to rush to Godma's place as she is leaving for Italy on the second day. and i don't get to take much pictures during visits. T. T

    Cheryl & Hera!

    看什么看!

oh, you know what? my fourth aunt thought that the diamante on my necklace was real. -.-
like wow i can afford DIAMONDS.

the lighting was not very good. looks smoky. O.O

yes i aspire to be like Victoria Beckham. :)

    off to harvest again!! ^^

    HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

    *squeak squeak squeak!*<br>

wow i hear many rats rushing out from the drains and bushes with firecrackers! the cats got so freaked out by this scene that they decide to go into hiding! hahaha.

im going out to get red packets now! BYE! once again, have a happy and prosperous Chinese new year! huat ahh!!! ^^

it's the 6th! it's the 6th again!! this is getting so fast like a.... comet? haha. :) we will continue to get further than this, much much further. we can, because i believe...

we had CNY celebration in school this morning. Hweetian didn't come to school!! LOL. your ang bao is still with me, it contains $???
Mr Lee wore the traditional costume (i don't know the specific name of that costume though) to school, which i think was quite nice. was he the only educator in school to wear traditional costume today? Rashidah wore BLACK. very auspicious indeed. haha.

the concert!! i was the first in 4m1's queue, and thus i was honoured with the 'MOST EXPENSIVE SEAT', quoting Mr I-don't-know-his-name, which was right in front of the stage. i can tell you that seat is so expensive that even the ants or whatever insects are fighting for it! throughout the concert my leg was itching like hell. not the normal type of itch, it's kind of stinging and Yu Shang got it too. and of all places, it was at a very awkward position where you can't reach to relieve yourself easily. that was pure torture! T. T

forget that. we should not complain too much during Chinese New Year. afterall, that was the MOST EXPENSIVE SEAT. and sitting right at the front means you get a clear view of everything, without having to stretch your necks like ostriches. i feel like a Queen. ^^

i think that this year's concert was better than last year's. though the PRC scholars sang mostly out of tune, i admire them for their courage to go onto the stage and performed for the school. the yo-yo perfomance was splendid! the perfomer, Timothy, was really cool luh! :D and as usual, the councillors put up a skit, which never fails to evoke laughter among the audience. impressive i must say!
halfway thorugh the concert, Yunying suddenly told me, 'eh, he is very cute just now.' then i was like, 'huh? u saw him meh?'
'just now when he was holding the couplet lor....'
    'orhh....'
Yu Shang, who was sitting right between us, overheard us. then she was astonished. and i think the news spread to Eleanor. after the concert they were bugging to tell them. LOLOL. well, what i can say that is it's for me to know and for you to find out. :)

after school i went home to help mum. she has been busy with the chores before the new year and i haven't been of much help to her. to think Chris even had the cheek to squander his time on computer games when all of us were busy. tsk! my mum didn't allow him to play 'cause she wanted him to help out too. you know what he did? slept in the room. -.-

i changed my bedsheets too. haha.

the bedsheet that was with us for almost 10 years.

mum said it's time to discard them. look at the picture carefully. i folded my bedsheet nicely while Chris just dumped his into the bag.

my brand new set of bedsheet! i have two blankets, in case the night gets so freezing cold and i die of hypothermia. that's bad.

we had reunion dinner at The Line, Shangri-La Hotel. this few years we are having reunion dinner with our individual family, not with the extended family like last time. i think that this is a good arrangement. =)

yup we had buffet again. Shangri-La's buffet was better than Conrad's and Trader's.

while eating, they were talking about the quality of the hotel.
last year's reunion dinner at Trader's Hotel, 4-star.
last Christmas at Conrad Hotel, 5-star.
    this year's reunion dinner at Shangri-La, 6-star.

wow... and we will be going back to Shangri-La this September! ^^
anyway, looks like we really love buffet. haha.

my first dish - Indian cuisine. i always start off with whatever i see first. except for dessert, which is of course.

for the second dish, i decided to go Oriental.

up next was pizza and salmon lasagne. plus pumpkin soup! i don't really like the lasagne. and mum said that the pumpkin soup at Trader's was better.

mum's salad. i didn't take any salad after the salad trauma at Conrad last Christmas. surprisingly, mum said that this salad was nice.

this is the same picture as just now, in different lighting.

after three plates of main course, i was all ready to attack the desserts!! ^^

Mango Mousse, Raspberry Cheesecake and Blackforest. the cakes were really awesome! i swept off all of them except for the Blackforest. i can't take too much chocolatey stuff at a time. the immense heat accumulating at your throat isn't a very fantastic feeling.

Fondue, Fruit Pie and that glass of sweet thing which i don't know its name. it appears that they don't display the names of their desserts. at that time it was already 10 plus and they still served the Fruit Pie, fresh. i wonder who else will go and take that, given that a lot of people have left.

i guess i had a really good appetite. another reason is that the food was really delightful. X)

these are pictures taken some time in December 2007. :)

haha. i still have not gotten my haircut then.

Aixin's surprise birthday celebration in school.

we told the birthday girl that we were having an early celebration for Kaijun, which was a BIG LIE. coincidentally Kaijun was sick on that day and could not come. apparently it was weird for the 'birthday girl' to not attend her birthday celebration. Aixin asked, 'Kaijun is not here than celebrate what?' so i answered 'oh... year 2008 is coming... celebrate new year!'

very funny right... celebrate new year still have to put 14 candles. we tried to bluff her that the person missed out 2 candles. 'cause its supposed to be 16 candles if we are 'celebrating' Kaijun's birthday. anyway, the bluff was quite successful! i know she was so damn touched luh. ^^

our Ah Chio cutting the cake. =)

she got cake-slapped by her classmates. the scene was dman hilarious! :D

i forgot how Fang-mei messed herself with the cake too... O.O

Fang-mei made this balloon hat specially for the birthday girl and she was supposed to take it home with her. but the Careless Chiobu forgot about her balloon and i became the one taking it home. LOL.
we really had a lot of fun that day! luckily Tiger was blind enough not to see the wet floor of the canteen, which resulted from us throwing water bombs at each other. hahaha.

tomorrow is the Eve of CNY! it's the 6th too! this is fast! ^^

    oh ya....
i got these things a few months back and i totally forgot about them until i see them lying nicely in my cupboard.

the price tags were not even removed... how really nice. haha. X)
